Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) is a joint initiative of Government of Kerala along with the Higher Education Department and General Education Departments, meant to tackle the issue of growing unemployability of human resources in the state. It aims in equipping the school and college students with employability skills in selected areas in the Industry and Service sectors. ASAP is the harbinger of a new and silent revolution in the educational system of Kerala aiming at continuous skill development. It seeks to equip the students to meet various challenges in the modern workplace.
ASAP programme in St Xavier’s College flagged off with a Mass Recruitment Campaign titled “Thousand Splendid Stars” in 2013. Our College has been one among the few colleges who took up the ASAP venture from the beginning. ASAP provides various short term training programmes like 21 Days’ Residential Training Program for recruiting SDEs (Skill Development Executives), Summer Skill Skool Training for the final year degree students and Foundation Course for the first year students.
