DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY

The Department of BOTANY was established in 1968. It has two faculty members. The department offers B.Sc Degree in BOTANY with HORTICULTURE and NURSERY MANAGEMENT as special paper. It has always maintained good academic results and also consultancy services.Faculty members give due importance to research publications. Three international papers have been published by Ms. Archana Kishore, Lecturer in this Department during the last two years. She has also published an article in the popular magazine Science India published by the Swadeshi Science Movement.

Faculty participates in seminars, workshops and symposia at international and national levels. A research culture is inculcated in learners especially at Undergraduate level. Students are encouraged to take up individual projects to meet their academic requirements.

Association Activities

2010-2011

Botany Association was inaugurated by Dr. Sarala Samue, Senior Manager, R and D Department, Kerala Ayurveda Ltd. and gave a talk on the topic 'Amtioxidants'.  'Bhoomithra Club' was inaugurated by Mrs. Regi Antony, Instructor, Centre for Science in Society and gave a talk on the topic 'Fiber Extraction from Agriwaste and Making of Value Addition Products.'  The association felicitated the rank holder Miss Maria Cheenickal.
