Jesus Youth 

 

            Jesus Youth movement is a worldwide movement, recognized accepted and encouraged by the ecclesial authorities. In Kerala, this movement came into existence in 1978, that time onwards in our college; the Christian Youths are actively participating in all programmes.

            There are 25 girls as Jesus Youth volunteers in St. Xavier's College for women. There is regular Ministry gatherings under the National service team of Charismatic movement.

            Every Thursday, Jesus Youth volunteers gather for their weekly prayer and Gospel reflection. They actively participate in the prayers of the college, on first Friday Holy Mass in Collage, Retreat and in Rosary Devotion in the month of October. On Xavierian Day Jesus Youth has displayed a message of Christmas in the Auditorium.

            Jesus Youth movement contributes much in order to form spiritually enlightened women. Irrespective of discriminations like religion, financial backgrounds etc. all students could gather, share and pray and grow in Jesus Youth activities.

Activities

2010-2011

        The Activities of Jesus Youth for the year 2010-2011 has begun with the welcoming programme arranged for the freshers.Apart the from previous year, this year we had a 3 day retreat named as 'REJOICE' for them.

       The weekly prayer meetings were conducted every Wednesday at 12.45 p.m in college prayer room.In the initiative of Jesus Youth 'Teacher's Day was celebrated by offering a Holy Mass for them.In connection with Rosary Month an exhibition named as 'Marian Expo was organized. The students from St.Francis school were invited to participate in this exhibition.

       Rev.Sr.Principal along with a group of 20 members of Jesus youth, participated 'Jesus Youth Jubilee Conference' which held from 28th of December 2010 to 1st January 2011 at Rajagiri College of Engineering, Thrikkakara. Our college had arranged the accommodation facilities for more than 200 students from Chattisgarh, who were attending the same.
