Parent Teachers Association

     The Parent Teacher Association is playing a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of the college machinery.It is the prop and support of all endeavours and establishes a positive and constructive link between all the stake-holders.

      The Principal is the president. The Vice president is elected from among the parents. The secretary is elected from among the teachers.

     Under PTA's patronage and whole hearted co-operation all developments within the academic and non- academic area take place.The PTA Executive Council meets at regular intervals and the annual general body meets and 'open - houses'  (held by each department) offer venues of sharing and interaction.Positive and negative feedbacks are openly discussed for timely improvement and correction.Generous allocation of PTA funds has helped the college with better facilities like generators, computers, water cooler, inverter, overhead projectors and a well-furnished seminar hall.  There is total involvement of the parents in the day-to-day activities of the college, especially College day celebration,farewell functions,PTA meetings,Tournaments and the like.Prizes and Gold medals awarded by the PTA in various fields encourage the students in Sports, NCC, NSS and in academic and cultural fields.
    The PTA is not only involved with the events within the campus.  It has involved in a campaign to protest against the proposed establishment of the bar hotel.

2010-2011

09-06-2010     PTA decided to conduct the first year Degree admission for the academic year 2010-2011on a centralized system for the first time in our college on a single day which was noteworthy. All the PTA Executive Members, teachers, non-teaching staff took sincere attempt for the smooth conduct of the examination.

15-06-2010     An orientation class was arranged for the parents of the First Year Degree students. Advocate Charley addressed the parents on various issues. 

17-06-2010  PTA arranged an orientation class for the first year degree students which was handled by Dr. Ratheesh Ambat.

12-10-2010  The 24th AGBM was held and Dr.Sybila Pius was asked to continue as the PTA Secretary for one more year. This meeting witnessed a revolutionary change. A printed book form of Annual Report and Audited Accounts was sent to the parents along with the invitation for the AGBM. The key handing over ceremony of the 3rd house was done in the presence of the parents on the same day, by Dr. C M Hyderale, President Kerala Action Force to Kum. Anitha Antony of I DC Zoology of native of Kadamakudy. Dept. of Zoology extended financial support for the same.

18-09-10 PTA in association with NSS and DISCA an NGO conducted a seminar on the topic 'Voice of Women in Environment Protection' for the students as a part of NSS mini camp. Dr. Parvathy Warrier of Palakkad, President of Women's Forum of South India Chapter OISCA and Dr. Baby M O. Director of Library Studies from Rajagiri College of Social Science addressed the students.

19-10-2010  PTA in association with Women's Study Centre and OISCA an NGO organized a seminar on 'Naturopathy' for the parent and teachers . Dr. Jacob Vadakkenchery Director of ' Nature Life International' kuttipuzha gave the lecture.

23-10-2010 An intercollegiate Quiz competition was held by the PTA, NSS and OISCA in association  with the ?Brahmakumari University , Abu, Rajasthan (Aluva Branch) for both U G and P G  students respectively. This was meant for the assessment of both academic and general knowledge for Arts, Science and Commerce separately.Two of one students from 1st M.A Literature, Kum Neethu Antony and Kum. Aneena secured 2nd place.

18-10-2010 An 'English Speaking Course' was started in association with an NGO OISCA for the women belonging marginalized sector on all Saturdays from 2 p.m -4 p.m without collecting any fees, but only Rs.100 for registration. This is a part of community outreach programme.

04-12-2010 A music class was arranged for the financially poor students as a part of student support programme by the PTA. Smt. Sujatha Neelakandan, Executive member of PTA has volunteered to take the class without any remuneration.

02-06-2009    College reopened after the summer vacation It was a day of enjoyment and achievement as the students came up dressed in the uniform, which was designed by Dr Sybila Pius Fernandez the PTA Secretary.

10-08-2009    PTA Secretary came up with a novel idea of constructing a  house for most needy and deserving student of our college, who does not have a home but a piece of land of her own, in association with NGO like Kerala Action Force, Anwar Memorial Pain And Palliative care and the panchayath. The Executive Committee passed it and decision was taken to construct one house every year.

24-08-2009   PTA organized a two day orientation programme on 24th & 25th of August for the First year degree students on the topic  'Self-Motivation'' by Dr Retheesh Ambat.

14-09-2009 Members of the PTA ,Executive Committee,Kerala Action Force,Anwar Memorial Pain and Palliative Care and Panchayat President  assembled for the stone laying cercmony for the two houses respectively one at Edathala and the other at Thuruth.Rs 1,00,000 was released by PTA and Rs 50,000 was raised from various sponsors and well wishers.

30-10-2009     The 23rd AGBM was held and Dr.Sybila Pius Fernandez was elected as the Secretary for the second time .On this occassion PTA organized a one day exhibition for the students on 'Coins and Currencies'' by Shri Parur Vishwanathan father of our student Thara Vishwanathan ,in association with Shanthi Madam  Builders which was inaugurated by Rev Sr Percy Principal.

27-01-2010    The 'Key handing'' ceremony of the first house took place at  Thuruth in the presence of our  very dear mother Libia Manager of the college.The house was for one student Akhila of I.DC. Economics.All the P.T.A executive members,teachers and NGO participated.

29-01-2010. The key of the second house was handed over to Dhanya of our III year Chemistry student at Edathala.The department of chemistry extended financial support for the same.Rev.Sr.Percy Principal, teachers, students, PTA executive members and NGOs were present.

14-03-2010. A Cleanliness Awareness Campaign was organized by the PTA and NSS for the Southern Railway. It was flagged off by our NSS Programme Officer Dr. Raji Joseph. PTA Secretary Dr. Sybila Pius and Southern Railway G M was also present. Mr.Arun of Aluva Railway Station was in charge of the programme.

17-11-2008   22nd Annual General Body Meeting was held and Dr Sybila Pius Fernandez was elected as the PTA Secretary. A very innovative decision was taken in the meeting to introduce uniform for the students from the academic year 2009-2010.

08-01-2009    A three day seminar was conducted for the outgoing students on the topic 'Stress Management' on 8, 9, and 12 of Jan, 2009 by Dr.Ratheesh Ambat.There was 99% attendance.
